Radisson Blu Hotel, Dublin Airport

The ask

The Radisson Blu Hotel at Dublin Airport is a popular business destination.

With 27 versatile meeting and conference rooms catering for up to 420 people, the four-star hotel is a regular choice for business executives who trust the quality assurance of the Radisson Blu brand.

So, when 14 of the hotel’s meeting rooms and a large multi-function space needed refitting with a new audio-visual system, the hotel looked for a company that could provide a first-class solution that met the Radisson’s quality standards.

MJ Technologies was selected for the job, offering a full redesign and refit to bring the meeting rooms fully up to spec, thus enabling the hotel to improve their business offering and save on external hire costs while they were at it.

The fix

Our primary job was to install new, modern, fit-for-purpose AV solutions in each of the meeting rooms.

To do this effectively, we first had to redesign the rooms and the AV systems within them so that they were up to spec for the business meetings of today, complete with videoconferencing, wireless presentation and projection facilities.

The 14 meeting rooms were upgraded with a soft-codec video conferencing solution, Maxell and Epson projectors and a brand-new audio system in each.

An Extron presentation matrix and switchers plus a Triax Headend system helped maintain high quality digital signal processing (DSP) for each of the rooms, where participants can collaborate wirelessly.

The result

Our work at the Radisson Dublin Airport helped to bring the hotel up to the Radisson Blu international brand standard. Today the hotel remains a popular choice for travelling executives and local businesspeople alike, with modern, first class AV solutions throughout.

Not only did our project greatly improve the Radisson’s offering for business clients, but it has also helped them make substantial savings on equipment rental, as they no longer need to hire external AV solutions for conferences, instead using the equipment now installed on site.

The success of this initial project led to further requests from the client, most notably for a new TV system to be installed throughout the hotel.

We designed and installed a Philips CMND TV distribution system, which allows hotel staff to manage multiple displays across the hotel from a single central location.

This bespoke solution – designed in keeping with the Radisson Blu brand – provides hotel staff with greater flexibility and ease of distribution, whilst hotel guests can avail of smart TVs in their rooms, complete with built-in apps and the ability to cast from other devices to the TV.

With the provision of digital signage and a new room-booking system up and running – plus a unified comms system for the hotel’s smaller rooms in the pipeline – MJ Technologies has become the Radisson Blu Dublin Airport’s go-to resource for all their audio-visual needs.
